Thank you for your interest in our Internships.
Our Internships are eleven months long, beginning in August (and ideally including attendance at our Summer Gathering event before that), and running through to July.
A lot of the training is done at the start of the year, so that Interns have the skills they need to kick-start our work in the Autumn term, and these skills are developed throughout the Internship through supervisory support and opportunities to manage specific projects.
Applying for the right to live and work (and permission may be granted separately for each of those) in the UK can take a long time (months), which causes a lot of disruption for the programme and disadvantages both the would-be Intern and the work of the project teams in the office.
To apply for working permission the organisation may have to prove that there was no-one else from within the UK/EU who could do the job, and this clearly does not apply to internships. Likewise, the training and development nature of the 11 month Internships makes it difficult to obtain the necessary visas.
For this reason we are unable to consider applicants who do not already have full permission to live and work in the UK for the full period of August - July.
