Crisis Action was foundeded in 2004 by its first director, Guy Hughes — a visionary campaigner for peace and social justice. Guy was Head of Campaigns at People & Planet when he developed the idea for Crisis Action in response to civil society’s failure to stop the war in Iraq. Guy tragically died in a climbing accident in January 2006.
