Action Step 3: Take your campaign message to the target

Demonstrating that large numbers of people support the Ditch Dirty Development campaign is really important, but to capitalise on the action cards and signatures you’ve collected, it’s time to go straight to the target.

  1. Up the pressure on DFID: Lobby your MP To increase the pressure on DFID, your MP could be an important ally. MPs can raise the issue of development aid and energy in Parliament, ask Parliamentary Questions, or work with their parties to increase the profile of the issue.

  2. Target RBS-NatWest: take action at a local branch Taking action at your local branch of RBS or NatWest is a great way to show RBS-NatWest that their oil and gas lending is immoral and students won’t put up with it. Challenge their legitimacy directly at a local branch.
