how many action cards can your group get signed?

The RBS campaign team have now sent more than 10,000 action cards to groups up and down the country. These groups have committed to getting them signed and sending them back to the office to be delivered to the Treasury.

The action cards call on the public to check the small print and not accept the terms and conditions of bailed-out banks like RBS, who are using public money to continue funding destructive fossil fuel projects around the world.

The cards are seen as a key way of winning and demonstrating the support of huge number of people across the country. Your group can order some by contacting Adam on 01865 245678 or ddd@peopleandplanet.org.

Alex Fountain, Manchester Metropolitan University student and Ditch Dirty Development Campaign Advocate said:

“If we are going to get the Treasury to make RBS go green, we need to win and demonstrate the support of tens of thousands of people up and down the country. These action cards are a great way to do this. They give groups a reason to talk to people about the campaign, and they give the general public a way to show their support.

“Getting action cards signed is easy and fun. Just go round your student cafe, or get a team together to knock on doors in halls.”

These action cards have been produced jointly with the World Development Movement who will also be encouraging their local groups and supporters to get them signed.

Our first joint delivery of action cards to Alistair Darling will take place at the end of October, so please send any signed cards back to the P&P office by 15th October 2009.
