Action Cards

Let’s flood the Treasury with action cards

Following a series of Treasury bail-outs for RBS, we, the British Public, own 84% of it. We think that means it should be run in the public interest, not just for private profit.

These action cards are calling on the Treasury to use RBS to fund the transition to a low carbon economy, and to stop letting RBS invest public money in so many devastating projects. We do not agree with the Treasury’s weak Terms & Conditions for bailed-out banks - we need to encourage everyone to read the small print.

Action cards are important because they show public support. While it is important to get press coverage through actions and stunts, action cards show how many people we have spoken to and persuaded to back us. If we are going to win this campaign, we will need tens of thousands of them to be signed up and down the country. We will be delivering these en masse to the Treasury at key points throughout late 2009 and early 2010. Please send us back your signed action cards as soon as possible.

You can get cards signed by knocking on doors in student halls or flats, by going round the tables in your SU cafe, or wherever students hang out. Remember, every person you speak to is a new person hearing about the campaign, and being persuaded to back us. You really are changing the world, one person at a time.
