Careers Events
RBS-NatWest depend on graduates coming to work for them every year. If RBS find it hard to recruit the best students, they may consider whether they really want to be the target of our campaign. If students know about RBS’ worst behaviour, many may reconsider whether they want to work for them.
Last year, after students taking action at careers fairs up and down the country, RBS rang People & Planet to discuss what they would need to do to get us to stop. They need students to come and work for them, so taking action at graduate recruitment events is a great way to get them to listen. There are usually two main kinds of graduate recruitment event - careers fairs, where RBS/NatWest may have a stall, and careers talks, where they may be giving a lecture to a group of interested students.

Die-in to protest RBS ‘making climate change happen’
Are RBS coming to recruit on your campus? Do their potential employees know their wicked ways? If they are coming to your careers fair, perhaps you could stand outside giving out leaflets explaining what RBS aren’t telling potential future employees.
Some groups sometimes feel they want to do more creative things. If you are going to do this, make sure you agree your message before hand, and that everyone is clear about what’s happening. Whatever you do, think about what your objectives are for the day. What is the best way to reach the biggest possible audience?
Careers talks
RBS may be coming to give a talk to potential future employees. Again, this is a great chance to ensure that everyone knows everything they need to know about their potential future employer. You could give out leaflets outside the event, or you could go along yourself and ask awkward questions.
