RBS Week of Action: Hall of Fame

Hundred of students joined the RBS Week of Action held from 24 April - 1 May. Here’s just a flavour of the many direct actions P&P groups organised:

Loughborough students rhyme against RBS

The People & Planet group along with the Amnesty International Society in Loughborough Universitystaged a protest outside their local branch, talking to members of the community about the issues and produced a fantastic video reciting poetry against RBS.


P&P group in Cardiff aims to mop up RBS

Cardiff People & Planet staged their creative RBS Week of Action protest outside their local branch in the aim that RBS would mop up its dirty investment policies.

P&P group in Edinburgh and others gains press coverage whilst attending RBS AGM

Press coverage from the BBC, The Independent, the Guardian, the Metro and many more highlights student anger about RBS’ unethical investment in oil and gas companies, especially on tar sands drilling in Alberta, Canada.

Cambridge P&P protests with politicians

Parliamentary candidates including ex-Friends of the Earth Director joined the Cambridge P&P group during the RBS Week of Action. Holding a ‘Blood Oil’ banner, Julian Huppert (Lib Dems) and Tony Juniper (Green Party) show their support for a cleaner RBS at Cambridge University.
