Saturday Evening Party
The line-up for the Shared Planet 2006 Party is definitely shaping-up to get you grooving all night.
So far the line-up includes:
Headland
Headland’s psychedelic-electro-rock party is hotting up with support from all quarters: Xfm playlists, Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, MTV2, Soccer AM… hell, even Top Shop TV.
Their legendary bi-monthly CHOC ICE club night down at the Luminaire (Time Out venue of the year) features 1950s ice cream ladies dishing out retro ice cream product. Next installment on Nov 9th sees Headland joined onstage by a school girl recorder group. Look out for new single ‘Dogging Sisters’ released Nov 13th.
“ace space pop… thrilling, throbbing electro” - NME
“I want to marry this band” - Drowned in Sound
Joana & the Wolf
Joana & the Wolf
Having played storming sets at this year’s Great Escape festival in Brighton and having shattered chandeliers throughout London’s premier venues with Joana’s explosive voice, Joana And The Wolf have captured the hearts of many a fan whilst still managing to scare the hell out of a few cowardly souls.
Jim Abbiss (Artic Monkeys, Editors producer) recorded Joana And The Wolf’s debut single at The Chapel studios for Regal. Having witnessed first hand the band attack the senses of a packed Water Rats crowd, Jim and the band decided to record set opener ‘Purple Nights’, backed by the infectious ‘November’. The result is a punk/pop triumph for your ears to feast upon. The small matter that Joana was personally asked by Serge Pizzorno to lend her voice on Kasabian’s new single ‘Empire’, and having already bagged a live session on John Kennedy’s Xfm show and a slot at this years prestigious ‘Bestival’, 2006 is quickly but never quietly shaping up to be the year of the Wolf.
Luke Wright

Geraint Lewis
24 year old Luke Wright is one of the UK’s most successful stand-up poets. In 2006 he took his debut solo show Luke Wright, Poet Laureate to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show was a massive critical success, establishing Wright as one of UK poetry’s heavyweights.
He also does loads of work with the live poetry collective Aisle16
“Wright has wit and opinons, he can craft them into stanzas with rhyme and scan and make you laugh not just at his jokes but at the dexterity he puts together the nuts and bolts of the English language … His satire works because he also believes in things: justice; honesty; above all the power of the poem.” The Scotsman
Bellagios
Bellagios
The Bellagios are a London based band, fusing Reggae, Funk, Rock and Latin with a Hip-Hop approach. Malcolm Haynes, main booker for the Glastonbury Dance stage said “I was blown away by them… for me they combined elements of OutKast, George Clinton / Funkadelic, they’re just a tremendous band.”
In 2005 they also won the Glastonbury New Bands competition (dance)
Josie Long
Comic Josie Long
“my face hurt from laughing” Ross Noble “the funniest 22 year old woman in the country” Stewart Lee
Josie’s youthful enthusiasm and distinct world view, mixed with intelligent insight, have gained her respect and made her a favourite amongst established comics. Selected to appear in the reputable Edinburgh Festival ‘Big Value Show’ in 2004 she created a buzz with her obsessive and ridiculous stories leaving audiences smitten with her innocent wonder and loveable madness. From this she went on to support Stewart Lee. In 2006 her debut Edinburgh show ‘kindness and Exuberance’ was met with critical acclaim, sold out from the first week and won her the if.com Eddy’s (formerly Perrier) Newcomer Award and sold out a show at the Soho Theatre.
