Make a Commitment this Fairtrade Fortnight!
Because changing the world a tea bag at a time isn’t enough!
25th Feb - 9th March 2008
Isn’t it time your school, college, university or students union made a real commitment to a more just world? Make Fairtrade Fortnight 2008 not only about promoting Fairtrade and ethically sourced products but about making the most of the huge potential for these institutions to be leaders for change.

Spread the message…
Get your institution’s decision makers to make a commitment to Fairtrade and secure local media attention.
Hold an ‘unfair funfair’.
Put on a Fairtrade fashion show.
Fundraise to support People & Planet’s economic justice campaigning.
Take action on the high street on Saturday 1 March, the second national Redress Fashion day of action.
Now is the perfect time to get your Head Teacher, Governers, Student Council or principal and students union to commit to taking a stand against the unjust world trade rules that trap millions accross the globe in poverty.
How? By taking the first step towards becoming a Fairtrade School or college!
Universities
Fairtrade Fortnight is also a time when you can build on your Fairtrade University status or campaigning and move towards a sweat-free campus.
How? By passing a student union motion commiting your union to supporting the Redress Fashion campaign and taking action to ‘redress’ your campus - with sweat-free union and university merchandise. In addition, your union could submit an amendment to NUS Conference 2008 to enlist national student support for the Redress Fashion campaign.
The high street
Demand that Topshop stops sweatshopping and makes a serious commitment to workers’ rights.
How? By joining P&Pers across the country taking action for the second national Redress Fashion day of action in the middle of Fairtrade Fortnight, on Saturday 1 March.
