People & Planet is committed to ensuring that the Green League is as accurate and reliable as possible. Considering that the Green League is calculated using nearly 5,000 separate pieces of data, we recognise that there may be errors. People & Planet will acknowledge and correct any mistakes that we have made in the compilation of the table. In cases where we were not provided with the correct data by universities we will include a note on this page but not make changes to the Green League itself.
The initial score and ranking for Royal Holloway as published on 3 July 2008 was incorrect. Only four points were awarded for environmental staff, when Royal Holloway has a full-time Sustainability Officer and should have received eight points. This has now been corrected in the Green League, giving Royal Holloway a total score of 27.5, a ranking of 75, and placing them in the 2:2 bracket. Our apologies to Royal Holloway for this mistake.
Royal Holloway also has a Carbon Champions scheme which involves departmental reps in taking action to reduce carbon emissions. While this could have gained Royal Holloway an extra two points, no information on this scheme was provided until after the Green League was published, and therefore this is not included.
The University of Hertfordshire was originally awarded 47 points, placing it at joint 8th place. However, an error was made in awarding points for environmental auditing, and with the correct points the University of Hertfordshire has 47.5 points overall, and moves to joint 5th place in the Green League.
