Go Green

Students at Bridgnorth took part in a P&P climate change workshop earlier this year

Students at Bridgnorth school taking part in the Go Green workshop

This year’s Go Green workshop empowers students to take action on climate change as well as educating them on the various political and scientific debates surrounding the issues. We use a range of techniques including a powerpoint presentation featuring films and animation, and facilitated discussion.

See the Go Green Campaign Action

The initial Go Green workshop

  • Looks at the devastating impacts of climate change around the world
  • What the causes of climate change are
  • How students can work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at their school or college

We then come back and talk to a smaller group of students who have expressed an interest in actually campaigning within the school or college.

The follow-up Go Green workshop

  • Helps students make a film of what they hope to change within their school or college
  • Enables students to run their own People & Planet group and campaign on climate change
  • Provides students with skills and resources needed to think critically, and campaign effectively
Students enjoy a workshop at Shared Planet 06

The Go Green workshops helps schools to fulfil post-16 citizenship learning objectives set out by QCA, and have also been used by a range of curriculum subjects including economics, geography, politics, PSHE and business studies. Contact us for more information or to arrange a workshop.

‘Fabulous morning – Thanks. I’ve not seen my students ask so many questions – they were motivated and comfortable. The only visitor to get applause before AND after!’ Jenny Griffiths, sixth form tutor at Bellerive High School and Sixth Form Centre
