Universities have a key role to play in the UK’s transition to a low carbon future, yet our learning institutions’ responses have not been quick enough. A lack of funding for carbon cutting projects is one reason the sector is not fulfilling its potential. Simple transition ideas and projects, led by staff and students, could play an important part in cutting universities’ emissions and energy-usage and save money.
This petition is about getting your university to invest in the ideas and enthusiasm of students and staff for change. A CO£2 Transition Fund will enable innovative projects to flourish and empower your university community drive forward a much-needed transition to a low carbon future.
By signing this petition, you are calling on your university to donate £2 per student into a funding pool that can be used by students and staff to run sustainability projects.
