People & Planet Green League Appeal
The People & Planet Green League is the UK’s only comprehensive and independent assessment of universities’ environmental and ethical performance. Combined with on-the-ground support for student campaigns it drives forward huge changes in the education sector - help us keep up the pressure for a greener higher education sector.
- £20 will help us send People & Planet groups an action pack to organise a ‘Green League Graduation Ceremony’ on campus
- £100 will help us organise a launch event in Westminster to ensure Ministers and Vice-Chancellors take the results seriously
- £500 would help us print and distribute a copy of the Green League 2012 report to every Vice-Chancellor in the UK
We are raising money towards our £5,000 target to ensure this year’s People & Planet Green League results land firmly on the desk of every UK student and Vice-Chancellor. We’ve already secured a deal to put it on the front page of the Guardian education section, but we need your support to reach wider audiences and support our students to campaign on their university’s performance.
Where will my money go?
- To help put the Green League results on the front page of every student newspaper and HE sector publication.
- To provide People & Planet groups and students with the campaign and press resources and staff support to enable them to raise awareness of the Green League and lobby their university to make the grade.
- To help compile and print a Green League progress report, which will assess the UK higher education sector’s performance and progress towards low-carbon transition since 2007.
How can I take part in the appeal?
You could fundraise as a People & Planet group, staff team or even individually. From putting on an green-themed event, having a cake sale or getting people to sponsor you, there are loads of ideas and tips on how to raise money on our fundraising pages.
