As well as fundraising, there are other, equally important ways you can support us. If your group is keen to help us organise an event and you think your university, college or school could be a good venue, let us know
Shared Planet
As the largest student conference of its kind in the UK, Shared Planet is challenging to organise but a fantastic project to be part of and is one of the most exciting activist events in the year.
Essential venue requirements:
- A main room that will hold at least 800 people and accommodation (usually large sports halls) for them;
- Good transport links from across the UK;
- A reasonable price;
- A wide range of workshop or seminar tooms (at least 30 in total);
- A venue for a party.
- Keen team of P&Pers to help organise on the ground
The Forum
It helps the staff team massively if People & Planet groups get involved in planning the Forum locally (booking the venues, negotiating to get a reduced fee, suggesting good party venues, etc.)
Essential venue requirements:
- 1 main room that holds around 100 people in a circle, and a few smaller rooms;
- Accommodation for all participants (in sport halls, church halls, community centre, etc.);
- Fits a small budget, contact us for more details.
- But the key thing is keen P&Pers who will liaise with us during the planning period.
Regional Events
If you want to host an event in your region or have a good idea for the next regional event (like a particular workshop) you should contact your Regional Rep.
Essential venue requirements:
- Rooms that can hold roughly 20-30 students
- AV equipment in the rooms such as projectors etc
- A good place to eat and for a beer afterwards
