Have your say on the future of the Green League
People & Planet is hosting a Green League consultation event on Thursday 16 September at Oxford Brookes University. Students are invited.
So you’ve checked out your university’s Green League ranking and are planning some eye-catching actions highlighting their performance. But do you have any suggestions to make the Green League a more useful campaigning tool for your group?
People & Planet are offering a chance for students to join university staff and other stakeholders to feedback on the success of the Green League in measuring UK universities’ transition to a low-carbon future. The event will take place on Thursday 16 September at Oxford Brookes University.
Together we’ll also look ahead to the development and publication of the Green League 2011. This will be an opportunity to gain an insight into exciting new media partnerships and plans for new criteria lined up for 2011.
Students will also have the opportunity to join this year’s Green League Oversight Group – a group of stakeholders who’ll engage throughout the development process for 2011.
Alice Hemming, the new Going Greener Campaigns & Activism Co-ordinator, said:
“The Green League has shaken up the higher education sector and now universities are more concerned than ever about looking green. Your campaign can utilise the impact of the Green League to influence university management to improve their environmental performance. This consultation event is a great opportunity for People & Planet groups to take ownership of this powerful campaign tool and engage with its development.”
