It’s only a couple of weeks until the People & Planet Green League is published in the Guardian (Tuesday 29 May). Universities throughout the UK will find out whether they have passed with First Class Honours or got a dismal Fail. To congratulate those universities who top the People & Planet Green League this year, we are hosting a Graduation Ceremony in Westminster on 21 June.
People & Planet invites representatives from the greenest universities in the country, alongside confirmed speakers such as Jonathan Porritt and Carolines Lucas, to celebrate their achievements. In true graduation style, each university will be presented with a certificate and a great photo opportunity to commemorate their fantastic achievement.
To make it extra special, the ceremony will be held in Portcullis House, a stone’s throw from the House of Commons in the centre of Westminster. This is a great location for the ceremony, not only because the building was designed to be an example in energy saving! It’s also right where we want to be: putting the People & Planet Green League and our universities’ climate change responsibilities at the heart of Britain’s political conversation.
