Birmingham Taking on Tarmageddon screening
Taking on Tarmageddon documents the events of last year’s People & Planet Tar Sands Solidarity Exchange.Following 8 People & Planet activists as they witnessed firsthand the unparalleled destruction of the tar sands the film is a great way to raise awareness at your university.
The Birmingham screening was a culmination of lots of work by the group as part of the Tar Sands Free campaign. Alice Swift, Tom Wragg and other members of the group have raised over £1000 in total for the campaign by:
- Holding a cake stall at a student summer festival
- putting on a fundraising gig
- Collecting donations at a Fairtrade Fashion Show
Tom and Kelly Rogers also cycled from Paris to Barcelona and ran the marathon, literally going the extra mile to fundraise.
