'Rough it' for a night
Loughborough P&P roughin’ it 2005
A ‘Sleepout’ involves getting a bunch of you to sleep outdoors for a night to raise money
Loughborough P&P have organised their ‘Roughin’ it night’ for two years to raise money for P&P. Their sleepouts have been great successes and raised over £1000!
With enough people you’ll have lots of fun, get lots of attention and encouragement from passers by and raise a good amount of money in the meantime.
To make the most of your event
- You’ll need a safe, but visual place to lay down for the night. An ideal spot would be by the entrance to your student union building, or the university or school grounds,
- Ask permission with your school or uni, or wherever you have chosen as your sleepout spot,
- Get lots of publicity out there and let people know what you’re up to and why you’re doing it, so that they can support you or even get involved themselves,
- Set up your own justgiving sponsorship page for simple and easy money collection,
- Don’t forget all the necessities for the event: sleeping bags, torches, snacks, collection tins…
For more advice and info on how to pull off this event, get in touch with Loughborough P&P or the support office.
