Proposal from Forum session |
How it’s been put into practice |
|---|---|
Space on the website to upload resources from the network |
You can upload resources using the contribute your news gizmo. They will appear on the relevant campaigns pages. A central resources library is being developed for the website. |
Online Forum |
A communications meeting including student members of the network was held in Summer term. It was decided to continue using the web forum that the Oxford P&P group set up. This means that the web forum remains network owned and run. The Support office will read, contribute to the web forum and promote it to the student network as much as possible. |
Links page on website for non-P&P and local campaigns |
There are now pages of links on the campaigns pages. |
Contact list of all P&P groups |
Check it out here. |
More case studies of success stories/top tips |
The website was relaunched earlier this year and it is now much easier for staff to upload news stories. Keep the groups’ news coming into the support office and we’ll put it up! The new Fairtrade and AIDS action guides include new case studies and success stories. |
Student input into monthly email |
The majority of our web and email news stories are now written by network members. The Action Update increasingly features student writing as well. |
Regional Reps and staff should be on group mailing lists |
This has happened in most cases. |
More regional meetings |
In Autumn term 2006, there were two regional training days. Ten more are planned for Spring and Summer terms 2007. |
Groups to work together to support big events, such as freshers fayres |
Some Regional Reps have helped to co-ordinate this. |
Regional support offices |
A working group is currently being established to explore this issue in Scotland. Contact Emily Cantrell for more information. |
Regional reps to play a larger role |
This year, Regional Reps have been given a much clearer job description and played a much greater role in supporting groups, networking and organising regional events. |
What remains to be done?
- Resources on how to set up/run websites.
- Group profiles on website.
- Groups to dedicate a communication officer to act as main contact and to look at message boards etc.
- The Support Office is working on creating a log-in area of the website, where key organisers may access the contact details of other groups.
What plans have changed?
- At The Forum 06, it was suggested that e-groups of key contacts for each campaign be established. This was piloted in the summer term 2006, however there was not very much uptake, so we are not currently taking this any further.
