Malmesbury School actions against AIDS
Malmesbury School makes it onto the front cover of local newspapers during Treat AIDS Now's Week of Action. Jason Peel, Malmesbury Sixth Form student reports:
After multiple lunchtime meetings we decided to run a main petition signing on Thursday 7th February. Beforehand in the week we visited various tutor groups from almost all year groups and handed out multiple action cards for them to sign. We soon ran out, but continued to visit forms to tell them about our signing.
On the actual day of the petition signing, we had a local press photographer come in to help generate publicity for the campaign. The actual event was a great success with teachers and students alike signing. Including the actions cards, we estimate that we managed to get a total of around 600 signatures, almost half of the total students at Malmesbury School.
We hope that our contribution will help to make a difference.
