Sitting at home on a Saturday night? Go Green and that might be a thing of the past!
There are many reasons to care about the environment, and a new report has found that getting a date is one of them.

The National Lottery has commissioned a report on Young People and Environmental issues. Having surveyed over a thousand 16-19 year olds, the pick of the findings are:
Practically half of 16-19 year olds encourage their parents to recycle, a quarter are more likely to be friends with someone who cares about the environment, and a fifth are more likely to go on a date with someone who cares about the environment.
After the over-65 age group, 16-24 year olds have shown the biggest jump since 1980 in those who have become most concerned about “what they can do to protect the environment and natural resources”.
Interestingly, they are also the age group least likely to boycott those manufacturers whose products contribute to pollution (although this too has increased since 1980).
Six in ten girls and five in ten boys aged 16-19 worry that they are not green enough.
The top three favourite solutions to climate change are: Rewards for people who do recycle; Banning all unnecessary packaging on food and other products; Generating your own power e.g. wind turbine or solar panels.
The bottom three are: A ban on travelling by plane for leisure; A complete ban on cars; Taking part in guerilla activities carried out by environmental protest groups.
Over half of what the report defines as ‘hardcore greens’ are female (55% vs. 45% male).
