What inspired you to start campaigning? I had always been interested in social and environmental injustice. When I came to Uni there wasn’t really any groups for campaigning so that was the main reason I started a P&P group. I didn’t really start it because I was eager to campaign myself, it was more so others could. However, when the group started and all the enthusiasm got going I really got into the campaigning.
Describe your most memorable P&P experience. The first couple weeks I was north-west regional rep were really good. I did about 8 group visits in 2 weeks. It was challenging but really fun. Everyone you meet is great.
How did you first hear about P&P? My cousin was an intern and used to stay with me when he was doing school visits.
What’s the best thing about being involved in a P&P group? Just the great people you meet. They restore my faith in humanity.
With many commentators suggesting that apathy is rife among young people, what can be done to engage young people in the campaign for social justice? Making it accessible, this is what P&P does and why its so great. In my experience there are an awful lot of apathetic people, not just young, but by making social change a feasible and accessible activity it is possible to counter this.
What was the last film you watched? A Room for Romeo Brass - Shane Meadows wrote it. Its a good one.
Where would you most like to visit? I would love to go to iceland
What are your ambitions for the future? To surprise myself
