OKÉ Fairtrade Smoothies Launch Today
'OKÉ NEEDS YOUR HELP!' This is the request from OKÉ as they launch their new Fairtrade smoothies today.
Some of Agrofair’s Fairtrade producer/owners
OKÉ is the brand name for AgroFair, the Fairtrade fruit pioneers that introduced the world’s first Fairtrade bananas, mangoes, pineapples and grapefruit. AgroFair is 50% owned by Fairtrade farmers in Africa and Latin America and 100% run for their benefit.
OKÉ smoothies come in two flavours Mango, Orange and Pink Guava; and Raspberry, Blackberry and Banana. They are the very first not-from-concentrate Fairtrade smoothies and they taste absolutely delicious.
OKÉ goes on sale in 180 ASDA supermarkets from today. And so far, they are the only supermarket group that has agreed to stock them.
To make that the OKÉ smoothies stay listed in ASDA and that the other supermarkets consider stocking them, OKÉ needs to be a success in a very short space of time.
Rachel Archer from OKÉ explains, “On average, we need to sell just two smoothies of each flavour in each ASDA store per day to make this a success. It doesn’t sound a lot, but it depends on Fairtrade supporters getting behind us.”
You can read more about OKÉ and how it is working together with farmers to improve their livelihoods and their communities at www.okefairtrade.com. You can also check out and get involved in the blogs.
