As part of Go Green Week, Mick Bates, who is the Lib Dem’s Shadow Minister for the Environment in the Welsh Assembly, visited Cardiff University Students’ Union for a Question & Answer session.

Following a presentation on the P&P group’s campaign so far and questions from the audience, Mick expressed how much he supported the group’s analysis and agreed to work closely with the group to push the campaign forward.

Amy Hall of Cardiff P&P said:

“We’ve known for years that the uni’s abysmal 84th position in the Green League was due to the lack of a full time Environment Manager. Our report shows the VC our evidence for this and now with Mick’s support we hope he will sit up and listen.”

The Q&A session was arranged by NUS Wales and Cardiff Uni P&P as part of Go Green Week during which groups up and down the country are putting on events and actions to highlight the huge detrimental impact the education sector has on climate change.

Cardiff Uni P&P have been plugging away with their Go Green campaign for three years and have done loads of great actions and awareness raising.
