Show the Age of Stupid and raise money for P&P

The fantastic climate change film is now available for groups to screen to raise awareness and, most importantly, raise money for P&P

The Age of Stupid is a fantastic film looking at the devastating impacts of climate change happening right now, but with a powerful twist.

It’s been in cinemas for over a month, but now you and your P&P group can easily hold a screening of the film before it even comes out on DVD. Show it in-between exams as a relaxing and fun activity to help people de-stress.

Your screening will be a great awareness raising activity for your climate change campaigns, but more importantly, it’s a great way to raise cash for P&P. After a long year of campaigning, this would be a great way for you to raise a bit of dosh to help pay for next year’s support and materials.

There’s a very easy to use guide to putting your screening on available right from the team who made the film.

Tips for success

  • Make sure you cover all your costs and then some. There’s no point holding a fundraiser that doesn’t raise any funds!

  • Tie-up with your uni film society - they’ll have the know how and a mailing list of people

  • Entice people (and make more money) by offering snacks and drinks for sale

  • Get someone from the group to speak at the end. Make sure they’ve seen the film beforehand so they know what they’re going to say.

  • Advertise everywhere and anywhere. It’s better to turn people away than not have enough there.

  • When you apply for the license, make sure you select the right type of group. If you end up being charged over £75 you’ve probably chosen the wrong one.
