Stop Europe pushing unfair trade deals on poor countries

The European Union is trying to negotiate trade deals that will hurt people and the environment in developing countries. Let's stop them.

As one of the richest parts of the world you’d think the European Union (EU) would be trying to help poorer countries, particularly in this time of world recession. Think again.

The EU, of which the UK is a key member, is currently trying to push rules for buying and selling onto poor countries. These trade deals will help our companies here at home, but put people in poor countries out of work and ruin the environment.

Now is a crucial time to act. On 4 June, elections take place for Members of the EU Parliament (MEPs) and so the candidates are keen to hear from you, the public. It’s the perfect opportunity to let them know how important fair trade rules are. Simply fill in an email

Don’t worry if you can’t vote yet, candidates want to hear from future voters too.
