Ashley and Divyesh with their Green Life Award
Over the past two years Ashley and Divyesh have worked amazingly hard, putting on a Green film day, giving bananas away at a Fairtrade Fortnight and even piloting a new sustainability course at the college.
Winning this award is fantastic- it has inspired me to do more with People & Planet in the future, I can’t wait!

A recently launched pilot project aimed at increasing the diversity and sustainability of P&P groups within colleges and universities has brought together students from Leicester college and De Montford University. The De Montford students having been mentoring their younger counterparts and together they have been exploring new ways of campaigning.
The Green Life Awards are hosted by Leicester City Council to celebrate and publicise the work of those who have made a significant contribution to improving the environment. Leicester College did fantastically well in the awards due to its commitment to sourcing food locally and for energy efficiency savings throughout the college.
