A Wave of young people to engulf Parliament
P&P have teamed up with political artist Polyp to create a huge head-turning wave sculpture for The Wave on 5 Dec and you can make your own amazing banners.
Here’s one P&Pers made earlier at Shared Planet
Renowned political artist, Polyp, is building a huge structure for The Wave, which will undulate and lead the march through the streets of London, powered by student members of People & Planet. Check out the pictures of what’s planned - one fifth of it appeared at our national conference Shared Planet 2009 and it was huge!
To give the whole thing real impact, groups across the country will be making banners and it’s really easy to do. Polyp has put together a step-by-step guide and it’s really easy to use stuff from skips or really cheap materials. You can make your banners as big or small as you like because we need a real mixture.

What else can you do for The Wave?
Learn the flashdance
P&Pers and young people from across the UK will be breaking into a mass flashdance before and during The Wave. Check out the instruction video on the right to help you learn the moves. Loads of people learnt the dance at Shared Planet 2009 and groups are teaching it at their meetings ready to rock their socks off on The Wave.
Join the mexican wave
Make a video of you and your friends doing a mexican wave and join the never-ending Mexican Wave. Watch out, it gets pretty addictive.
Blue fingers
Join the hundreds of others who have shown their blue finger to climate change. Your photos will be added to the giant wave prop we’ll be taking on the march, so you can be on the Wave even if you can’t make it!
What is The Wave?
Ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will flow through the streets of London on 5 Dec to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all.
Alongside actions around the world, The Wave, organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, will be the UK’s biggest climate change march. Together we will call on world leaders to take urgent action to secure a fair international deal at Copenhagen. We want the UK Government to show leadership to protect the poorest, act fair & fast and quit dirty coal now.
