Places are still available on the training session this Sunday 6th December in London from 9.30am -3pm. The aim of this pioneering training is to enable you to work within your Univeristy or College and/or local community to discover new ways of engaging a new and diverse range of people in People & Planet campaigns.

Shilpa Shah is the founder of the Akashi Project a ground-breaking project working to engage different community groups in the issue of climate change.

“Climate change is affecting, and is going to affect absolutely everyone, and at the moment, the voices that are being heard in the environmental movement are from a narrow sector of the community. We need to be more inclusive, and more accessible and make sure everyone’s voices are heard.”

Workshops ran by Shilpa at previous People & Planet events, Shared Planet and The Summer Gathering, were a massive hit with participants.

In Sunday’s training session, Shilpa and People & Planet staff will support you to come up with a plan of action on how to be more accesible. You might decide to put on an innovative event to attract new people to your group, run diversity training sessions with Universities in your region, or do outreach work with your local community. You can be as creative as you like. You will receive ongoing spport from the support office and we are asking participants to retun and meet again in late Spring. This will be a time to a skillshare to see how the plans went and to support each other.

Getting involved in this exciting new project will help your group or campaigns to become more accessible and look amazing on your CV.
