Fair Trade for Tamil community

Students at Barrs Hill school, Coventry, promote the Fair trade message to the local Tamil community.

Inspired by People & Planet’s workshops on the issues of global poverty and Fairtrade, Barrs Hill students wanted to spread the message further.

Sensing a gap in the awareness of sections of their local community, students wrote and then translated information about the issues into Tamil. Leaflets were printed with the support of the Coventry Youth for Fair Trade project and circulated to the local Tamil population.

People & Planet provide workshops to sixth forms and colleges around the issues of Fairtrade and climate change aimed at educating and empowering young people to take action. Find out more or get in contact
