Students signing ethical banking petition

This week saw the launch of the Tar Sands Free campaign at Durham university.

The People & Planet group held a stall on their campus to raise awareness about “the most destructive project on earth” amongst their fellow students. They:

  • Collected signatures to pressure their university to sign up to a bank that doesn’t invest in the Tar Sands

  • Sold cakes to raise money for their People & Planet group

  • Publicised their upcoming events and campaign actions

The campaign will continue with film screenings of H2 Oil at the Durham colleges and a talk by one of the students who went on the tar sands youth exchange.

And More….

The Durham group will also be having their first SCOOP stall on January 27, selling tasty ethical whole-foods at cheap prices to students and staff at the university!
