Where the money goes

In 2006-7, People & Planet spent most of its funds on supporting student campaign action groups (47%) and researching and developing hard hitting and effective campaigns (27%). Although we have roughly the same number of sixth form and university groups, we spend more on sixth form outreach because sixth form groups are less self-sustaining and require a greater level of support.

We try hard to minimise administrative costs and these account for only around 14% of our annual expenditure. We are housed in low-rent office accommodation and we have a policy of using Free Software and re- conditioned computer and office equipment wherever possible. We purchase travel at discounted rates when we can, as long as this doesn’t compromise our commitment to reducing carbon emissions!
