And we want to change it
People & Planet is a network run by and for students and young people. We are here to represent you. We listen to young people and run campaigns on the issues that matter to us. By working as a network we can ensure that those in power are unable to ignore the views of young people. We really can use our pressure to bring about change.
By combining the passion and energy of students across the country for fairness and environmental justice we’ve achieved amazing things. From getting the Government to supply tens of thousands of people in Africa with medicines for HIV or getting Fairtrade in hundreds of schools and colleges - People & Planet works.
To maximise the impact of People & Planet’s voice, the students of the network choose just two issues to focus on. The issues that are chosen become our campaigns.
Our Campaigns
We are currently running two campaigns that will allow you to make a big impact at your school or college. These are the Wear Fair campaign and the Go Green campaign. The campaign actions that we can help you to plan are designed to be entertaining and to have a mass appeal so that they will deliver a big impression that cannot be ignored.
What is a campaign?
A campaign is a series of actions that pushes for change. And it works. History is littered with examples of popular pressure making a difference. The end of slavery, the end of apartheid, dropping the debt, MakePovertyHistory. These are all excellent examples of how people can make real change happen. And you can get involved.
