Free training for students and staff is coming to a city near you! NUS & CASP are touring Scotland over Go Green Week offering workshops on greening your campus and boosting your CV. From the 7-10th of February they will be visiting Aberdeen, Dundee, St Andrews and Edinburgh. The tour will finish with a bang with sessions on Saturday 11th at the Sustainable Futures Forum.

What is the Sustainable Futures Forum?

A two day conference organised by People & Planet’s Sustainable Futures Scotland Project. Packed with talks, workshops, skills-shares and a cycle-powered social, the Sustainable Futures Forum will be the student sustainability event of the year in Scotland! It will be an opportunity for university and college students from across Scotland to network and exchange ideas on sustainability and social justice projects and campaigns on their campuses.

The conference will also include the NUS & CASP Transition Training project’s Transition on Tour and People & Planet Democracy sessions!

When and where is it?

The event will take place on the weekend of 11-12 February 2012 at the University of Strathclyde Students’ Association, the largest union in Scotland!

We are offering crash pad accommodation and help with transport costs on a first come first served basis. Find out more about accommodation and transport arrangements

What’s on?

On Saturday 11 February there will be a choice of exciting workshops, skills-shares, an open space and a cycle-powered social to top it off in the evening! As part of the event the NUS & CASP Transition Training project will also be providing a number of exciting Transition on Tour sessions.

On Sunday 12 February there will be a valuable day of ‘Project Development & Communications Training’ with Joe Farthing of Transition Edinburgh University. This practical, hands-on workshop will give you the skills to succeed and is highly recomended for anyone who wants to plan their own projects and successfully engage their whole campus. Running alongside this will be People & Planet’s Scottish Democracy event where exciting decisions about the future of People & Planet will be discussed.

The event is FREE to attend and lunch is provided if you book online.

Please note, to book your place we request a refundable fee of £5 payable online via credit or debit card. There is a non-refunable credit-card charge of £1. The £5 will be refunded to your card automatically after you have registered your attendance at the event.
