This will be a space for people to suggest and facilitate their sessions on their own questions, topics or discussions. Bring your ideas along on the day to write on the notice board and go and find a space!

09:30 - 12:45: Parallel sessions

There will be two session to choose from that will run for the length of the day:

  • People & Planet’s Democracy event: Hosted by the Sustainable Futures Forum this is the main decision-making event for People & Planet students in Scotland and will be where exciting decisions about the future of People & Planet will be discussed. This will be an exciting opportunity for students to choose the climate change campaign People & Planet will be focusing on for the next few years, as well as discussing possible Scottish campaigns and collaborations. Don’t miss your chance to have your say and you don’t need to be part of a group to get involved!

  • ‘Project Development & Communications Training’ with Joe Farthing of Transition Edinburgh University: This practical, hands-on workshop will give you the skills to succeed and is highly recommended for anyone who wants to plan their own projects and successfully engage their whole campus. Justin Kenrick, a powerful speaker and academic joins us by live link up from Liberia to talk about ‘People, Planet and Power’. Drawing on his work locally with the Scottish Transition Network, and with communities seeking to protect their commons in Africa he will seek to answer the question ‘how do we make the transition to sustainability locally, nationally and globally?’
