Party

Line Up

Here’s the line-up so far:

The Shared Planet party has developed a reputation over the last 10 years for awesome venues, amazing music, incredible poetry, phenomenal comedy and more importantly for being the most ethical fun it is physically possible to have - and this year is no exception. After all, what’s the point of saving the world, if you can’t have a good time doing it!

Danny Chivers

Danny Chivers

Oxford Hammer & Tongue Slam Poetry Champion 2007 Danny Chivers started performing poetry in 2006 and now can’t seem to stop. Never one to shy away from controversy, his poems tackle subjects such as climate change, the war on terror, and world domination by militant pigeons. He believes that humour, sarcasm, dodgy rhymes and pop culture references are all suitable weapons in the fight against global injustice and against people who compare him to a fictional teenage wizard.

Half master of witty banter, half eerily reasonable prophet of environmental Armageddon

360

360

360 is made up of 8 musicians who have been together for quite a while, but have now been settled into their present incarnation for the last 2 years. They are a “live” band, bringing excitement to the stage and transmitting that to the audience, who never fail to pick it up and run with it for all they are worth. All their material is original — most of which is written by their guitar-playing singer Ross Lydon. First hearing is noted for the influence of reggae and ska to their music, but upon listening further, you quickly begin to realise that there is more. More melody, more catches and more rock.

In 2006 the band were voted Best Urban Band in Birmingham at the Birmingham Music Awards, and headlined at the popular Birmingham University Vale Festival. 360 have played at numerous festivals, including Shambala, Big Green Gathering, Beach Break Live and Eastern Haze. They have a loyal and large fan base in and around the Birmingham area, but it is obvious to anyone who hears or sees them that the time has now come for their music to be heard by more people, North, South, East and West……

Alphadrive

Alphadrive

Coming from one of the major musical heartbeats of North England (Hyde Park in Leeds) via way of Lancaster, Rugby in the UK and Oyo state in Nigeria, The three-piece that is “Alphadrive” have really been causing a mighty stir in their short existence so far as a band.

Their musical influences are way too much to mention but definitely covers the basis of what could be referred to as eclectic to the say the least. The trio have extensive individual interests and experience in music production, promotions, community projects and numerous collaborations spanning a few years.

A string of high profile appearances and headline slots since their conception in October 2007 have seen the band come from playing the local venues to festival main stages. Expect a fusion of synths, breaks, funk, house, electronica, dub and drum & bass mixed in with live percussion and psychedelic guitar from a typical Alphadrive gig.
