Each year, Shared Planet welcomes inspirational speakers from across the world and 2008 will be no exception:

- Young people from Ghana’s largest Fairtrade cooperative, Kuapa Kokoo*.

Workshops
Choose from 39 different workshops covering a range of topics:
Skills workshops like: Sustainable living, non-violent direct action, media training, fundraising ideas, using the internet for campaigning…
Issues in more depth and detail: Tax justice, development education, funding the fossil fuel industry, the politics of thinking green, the right to health and AIDS treatment, the UK Asylum system, African Renaissance in South Africa…
And some fun, hands-on ones too, like guerilla gardening and climate art projects.

A dedicated film venue will host a programme of films guaranteed to inspire and stir you into action. The full list of films is now available

Debates
Panel debates on big issues is a key part of the Shared Planet programme. Look out for one of this years main features, a Stop Climate Chaos Question Time with representatives from the main political parties.
The other panel debates will be:
- Fairtrade Is Fairtrade an effective strategy for poverty reduction?
- The Age of Plenty or the Age of Famine? What are the real causes of the global food crisis?
- CCTV, ID cards and the DNA database This debate has now become a workshop in the form of discussion due to panelists being unable to attend because of unforeseen circumstances.
