Saturday Night. Party Night.
When the workshop sessions wind down on Saturday night it is time for some revelry. Hosted at Club Underground at the North Campus Student Union, People & Planet proudly presents the Shared Planet Party. Your wristband ensures free entry for this ever so exclusive gathering.
Danny Chivers seems to have Shared Planet in the blood and our resident slam poet kicks opens the proceedings with a barrage of his award winning mix of dodgy rhymes and bad jokes. Joining Danny will be CLAIRE “Radical Supergirly” FAUSET delivering poetry of “Power, passion, fizz and fervour”” How delightful.
‘What next? What next’ I hear you scream. ‘We want to dance.’ Then dance you shall…But all that grinding and the like can wait..oh no.. its time to folk it up .. with a live Céilidhs Band. According to the online colossus that is Wikipedia ‘Céilidhs traditionally facilitated courting and prospects of marriage for young people….’ we really are to good to you.
Next up are David Rybka & The Victorian Dad with a blast of psychedelia described in the BBC Manchester review as : “Bass, drums, saxophone, two guitars, a ukulele and a mandolin ensure that the sound is rich in colour and texture. The rhythms are complex, catchy and imaginative; the songs are authentic, lyrical and cleverly arranged. The delivery is gutsy and theatrical.”
