Shared Planet 2010
What happened?
Over 400 students gathered in Birmingham University on the 6 - 7 November 2010 for People & Planet annual conference. They were inspired by a huge range of speakers including Caroline Lucas MP - leader of the Green Party, BBC presenter and veg-growing guru Alys Fowler, Nick Dearden - director of the Jubilee Debt Campaign and John Hilary, director of War on Want.
Students were also able to engage with David Babbs - Executive Director of 38degrees, NUS president [Aaron Porter](http://en.wikipedia.or g/wiki/Aaron_Porter), Jess Worth, co-editor of the New Internationalist and feminist writer and activist, Finn Mackay, in a lively panel debate.
As well as Climate Change & corporate power campaign workshops, students had the choice of over 16 amazing workshops on everything from fees & cuts to sustainable food, from tar sands to Palestine. Sunday was devoted to open spaces which enabled students to suggest the issues they wanted to discuss and facillitate their own workshops.
Sounds amazing right? Don’t just take our word for it. Check out a blog from someone who came along.
