What happened at Shared Planet 2011?
“Absolutely fantastic experience!”
Over 400 students gathered in Oxford on the 12-13 November 2011 for People & Planet’s annual conference.
They were inspired by a huge range of speakers including Crystal Lameman - Cardinal of the Beaver Lake Cree Nation in Alberta, Suzanne Dhaliwalfrom the co-founder of the UK Tar Sands Network, Shiv Malik -a Guardian journalist and author of the book Jilted Generation and Tim Gee Author of “Counterpower: Making Change Happen”.

Students were also able to engage with Peter Tatchell, one of the leading British activists for human rights, Hannah Elsisi, an Egyptian activist involved in the revolutions of the previous year and Ed Marsh, Vice President Union Development of NUS.
As well as Climate Change & Corporate Power Campaign workshops, students had the choice of over 16 amazing workshops on everything from Tar Sands Free to Egypt, from Debt Crisis to Black Gold Injustice.
