Inclusive and fun!
You’ll work well together if your fellow campaigners are friends! Plus, you already have something in common. Watch that your group doesn’t become a clique: new members need to feel welcome, not alienated.

Some tips for this include:
- Be welcoming at all your meetings and events. Make sure you start by introducing yourselves.
- Have regular socials - maybe even appoint a ‘social secretary’.
- Be obviously open to new members; advertise lots with posters around school.
- Make sure existing members mingle with newcomers at your meetings.
- Take advantage of chances to socialise for example banner-making parties.
- Be flexible, allowing for different levels of involvement.
- Have contact details and your plan for the term on a noticeboard.
- Find out what new members are interested in right from the start in your first meeting.
