How do I submit a proposal?
Students discusssing the three proposed campaigns at The Forum
This year, members of People & Planet network will decide on new proposals for the future of the network during the Student Activism Weekends. The weekends will also open the elections for new members of the Management Committee.
There are two main areas you can submit proposals about. First, People & Planet are choosing a new climate campaign. If you have an idea for what we should all do about climate change over the next few years, then submit it by 13th December!
Second, do you have any proposals for how the network work together better? Are there any general ideas about how we could improve? People & Planet is dedicated to democracy as part of our vision of a just world, so it’s important that all members have their say on how best to run student campaigns on world poverty and the environment, and how best to run ourselves. Submit proposals by 13th December.
What happens to a proposal once I’ve submitted it?
If you submit a proposal, it goes through 2 stages.
It will be discussed by the People & Planet Management Committee which consists mostly of elected students. The Management Committee will merge any similar proposals and see if there are any proposals which they feel they can approve right away. They’ll then put the proposals together to form the agenda for each Student Activism Weekend.
This agenda will go to each weekend, where the proposals will be discussed and voted on by you. Once all of the weekends have happened, the votes will be collected.
