Summer Gathering 2008 bonfire

Join us for fun and games from 2pm onwards

  • 2pm onwards - Arrivals at Oxford Station and lifts to Yolbury Scout Camp where general fun and team building activities will take place!
  • 6pm Dinner - the first of many delicious veggie meals cooked and served by us
  • 7pm till late - Opening circle and merriment around the bonfire

  • Transition Skills- Learn a range of news skills to help you escalate small-scale grassroots projects into carbon-cutting successes
  • The Green League in action - How to use this year’s Green League results to transform your university’s green performance

  • Go Green Week celebration - A light-hearted look back on Go Green Week 2011 and plotting
  • TALENT SHOW & BONFIRE - bring your guitar, singing voice, stories to tell, juggling balls or whatever your talent is!

  • Introduction to Buy Right/Advanced Buy Right
  • “Escalation - Visioning, campaign strategy, and how to kick off till you win”
  • University politics and lobbying - Making change happen.
  • Movement building for the Buy Right campaign

Afternoon:

  • Train the trainer - How to train, inspire and empower others on your campus.
  • Solidarity - Building solidarity within your university
  • plus Frizbee time!
  • Live Skype Link up with Dominican Republic union activists and US anti-sweatshop students, followed by celebration

Morning:

  • People & Planet Superstars Awards ceremony
  • Planning the term ahead - Freshers Week & beyond
  • Using the media to win with UK’s leading activist journalist Laurie Penny
  • Gender workshop with feminist author Kat Banyard

Afternoon:

  • Running awesome meetings- Facilitation skills with leading activist Pete Speller
  • Communications on campus- How to mobilise people on and offline
  • Non-Violent Direct Action training with the experts Seeds for Change
  • Closing circle

  • 5pm END and lifts back to the station
