Members of the Beaver Lake Cree Nation protest tar sands at the Canadian Embassy in London

From 28 June - 12 July, a group of People & Planet college and university students from across the UK are visiting Northern Alberta, Canada. We are here to learn about and experience firsthand the impacts of the tar sands on our host community, the Beaver Lake Cree First Nation.

Check out the Grassroots Blog and our Facebook page for all the latest updates, blogs, videos and photos from the tar sands youth exchange students.

In November 2011, Cree young people and Canadian student activists will come back to the UK for People & Planet’s Shared Planet conference, to share their experience and help launch a new campaign to shut down the tar sands!
