To encourage students to cycle to work instead of travelling to college by taxi or car, students at Coatbridge College are developing a bike hire scheme.

The scheme is a great way of getting students healthier and using more sustainable forms of transport.  It will also increase students' awareness of sustainable transport issues. 

The college would purchase the bikes and students will hire the bikes for a small fee and students would be also able to use them at weekends and in their free time, further increasing their use of sustainable transport.

This entry was one of the "special mentions" in the People & Planet Green Dragons' Den competition, and those involved in the project are recieving help in meeting with the college principal and applying for funding.
