Camera…message…Action!
Camera … Message … ACTION!
The new government do not seem to be taking their international commitments on AIDS seriously — and this is just at the time when they’re busy deciding what action they’ll take on the crisis over the next three years.
This is why we need to shine the spotlight on AIDS.
We will be collecting hundreds of video messages to let decision-makers know how many people care about the issue, and that we are watching to make sure they keep their promises.
A video message allows us to talk directly to those in power — and a unique, personal message is incredibly effective. By collecting hundreds from across the country, we can demonstrate how many people feel strongly about the AIDS crisis, and by posting the messages on the web we can reach a world-wide audience.
As a group you can set up a space to collect your messages. You may even want to record messages on the move, for example, during stunts or actions. When collected, the messages can be uploaded onto the P&P website via YouTube and viewed by all. Messages can be collected at events around World AIDS Day, with a big push on the day itself. Events or stunts to draw attention to the issue are a great way of inspiring people to leave messages .
How will the messages be used?
Messages will be collected on the P&P website (via YouTube), where they can be viewed as they grow in number. They will then be collected together into a film which we will present to DFID early in 2008. We will also produce a copy for you to continue to use in your campaigning.
