Birmingham students do massive naked protest
What does this role involve? This is an exciting opportunity to bring life to People & Planet’s Buy Right campaign. Your role as a Buy Right Activist will be running the campaign on your campus, communicating its goals and building the anti-sweatshop movement on your campus. You could organise a petition to your university, organise student or national campaign actions, bring more members into your People & Planet group or put on events.
Whatever your skills, you’ll help us campaign for universities to support workers rights and Fairtrade, and campaign on campus in solidarity with sweatshop workers and farmers in your university supply chains.
Key tasks will include:
- Using your strategic skills to plan an amazing Buy Right campaign on your campus
- Communicating the latest campaign news & using social networking tools like Facebook and Twitter to promote news stories
- Promoting awareness of sweatshop issues and building our movement on campus
- Using media skills to raise the profile of the campaign on campus
- Keeping your support buddy up-to-date on any media coverage received and on campaign achievements in your university

What is required of you?
- A commitment to work around 2 hours on average per week on the role
- You must have access to a computer, internet and a phone
- A commitment to come to our annual training events, like the Student Activism Weekends and the Summer Gathering.
