What does this role involve?

This is an exciting opportunity to bring to life People & Planet’s Going Greener campaign by running the campaign on your campus, communicating its goals and building the Transition Universities movement on your campus.

You could use your social networking pizazz to ensure your campaign & projects have an engaging presence on Facebook, Twitter and the People & Planet blog. You could help develop new transition project ideas or create new materials for the campaign including videos, posters and practical guides on topics such as running a Swap Shop, getting Meat-Free Mondays on campus or setting up a social enterprise Bike Co-op.

Whatever your skills, you’ll help us to get our award-winning climate change campaigns noticed by being a local & national advocate to other young people and politicians and by splashing it across the newspapers too.

Key tasks will include:

  • Using your skills to coordinate a strategic Going Greener campaign on your campus
  • Communicating the latest campaign news to your group & using social networking tools like Blogs, Facebook and Twitter to promote news stories
  • Promoting awareness of environmental issues and how they can be can be tackled
  • Using media skills to raise the profile of the campaign
  • Send the Going Greener national coordinator Lisa regular updates on your progress, upcoming events and any media coverage received.

What is required of you?

  • A commitment to work around 3 hours every week on the role
  • You need to have at least one year of experience in the People & Planet network or equivalent campaign experience
  • You must have access to a computer, internet and a phone
  • A commitment to regular catch-ups with People & Planet staff
