Stacey, Social Media and Communications Champion

Stacey Griffiths

Stacey receives a Good Citizenship Award from Liverpool John Moores University Foundation for Citizenship for her volunteer work.

Stacey was inspired to volunteer as a Social Media and Communications Champion after taking part in a People & Planet workshop at her college.

“Although the Social Media & Communications volunteer role was different to anything I’d previously done, there was plenty of opportunity to develop skills and also great support available.

“The most enjoyable part of the role has been writing articles for the People & Planet magazine. It allowed me to develop my writing skills and understand the role of the media and effective communication in campaigning.”

“I would strongly recommend that everyone volunteers with People & Planet, particularly school and college students. You will get an amazing insight into the world of campaigning and meet like-minded, young people. When young people are empowered to stand up for their rights and responsibilities, we can really have a huge positive impact on society and improve the outlook of the future.”

“The next step for me is to join a People & Planet group at University. I plan to get involved in the broad range of P&P campaigns and my hope is that I become a thoroughly active member of the group!”
