Stacey Dooley, who rose to fame after appearing in the BBC’s acclaimed documentary ‘blood, sweat and t-shirts’, gives her support to the Wear Fair campaign in schools and colleges.

Stacey was one of several fashion conscious young people who took up the challenge of spending four weeks in the cramped backstreet workshops of the Mumbai slums for the documentary. After experiencing first hand the appalling working conditions and child labour rife in India’s sweatshops, Stacey has become a passionate campaigner for human rights in the supply chains of UK fashion.

Determined to return from her experience in India a changed woman, she raised the profile of child labour problems in the clothing industry in her tear-jerking ‘Stacey Dooley investigates’ documentaries. She’s also raised money to help those she met on her journey, and now leads a new generation of fashion loving, anti-sweatshop campaigners.

Stacey says that she supports the campaign for Wear Fair campaign for Fairtrade cotton in school and recognises the vital role that students must play in raising awareness of the problems in the global clothing industry and being part of the solution. She also plans to get more involved in the campaign next year when she’s not abroad filming for her next show.
